President Trump Destroys Dems Dreams Of Stopping National Emergency… 100%

President Donald Trump has slammed the brakes on what the Democrats thought would be a way to stop him for getting his national emergency.

The Democrats in the House introduced a resolution on Friday that would block President Trump’s national emergency.

The bill is believed to have support from some Republicans in the House and Senate.

The resolution sponsored by Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) had 222 co-sponsors.

The measure is expected to pass the Democratic-held House but will need to win GOP support to get through the Senate.

Several GOP senators have expressed opposition to Trump’s emergency declaration, warning it could set a precedent for a future president to declare an emergency to circumvent Congress on another issue, such as climate change or gun control.

As a result, it’s possible Democrats in the Senate could win the handful of votes needed to pass the measure.

It was believed by some that President Trump would be reluctant to veto a bill that had Republican support.

But the president put that speculation out to pasture when he said he would veto the measure.

“Will I veto it? 100 percent. 100 percent. And I don’t think it survives a veto,” he told reporters Friday.

“We have too many smart people that want border security, so I can’t imagine if it survives a veto, but i will veto it. Yes,” he said.

He did say that he believes that Republicans would stand with him and not vote for the measure.

“Everybody knows we need border security. We need a wall. I think it’s a very bad subject for the Democrats,” President Trump said.

And he is correct in believing that there is near no chance that the measure would survive a veto.

In order to override President Trump’s veto it would need two thirds of the votes in the House and Senate.
