Pelosi says Trump’s wall is nothing but a ruse, POTUS doesn’t want supporters to see what he’s REALLY up to

Newly elected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was slammed for her shameless lack of self-awareness after she criticized President Trump’s border wall.

During a news conference after a two-week partial government shutdown over funding of the president’s proposed wall, the California Democrat called it “a waste of money” just hours after she reclaimed her speaker’s gavel, according to the Washington Post.

“The fact is a wall is an immorality. It’s not who we are as a nation,” she said on Thursday.

Pelosi insulted the intelligence of millions of Americans and blasted the president as a “master of diversion,” claiming his obsession with funding the wall had nothing to do with the security of the nation, as Trump has maintained, but is a ruse to distract from other issues he apparently reallycares about.

“This is not a wall between Mexico and the United States that the president is creating here,” she said. “It’s a wall between reality and his constituents, his supporters. He does not want them to know what he’s doing.”

The Democrat leader reiterated that “we’re not doing a wall.”

“It has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with a wall as an immorality between countries. It’s an old way of thinking. It isn’t cost effective,” she argued.

In an op-ed for Townhall, Guy Benson posed a question to the Democrat who jetted off to Hawaiito “observe” Christmas during the government shutdown while Trump remained in the White House, without his family.

“Because if she truly believes that a border barrier is “immoral” unto itself, she should be campaigning to tear down that wall. And she couldn’t possibly let obstacles like the cost or logistical difficulty stand in her way; she’s positioned herself as a moral crusader, and this is a moral crusade,” Benson wrote.

Pelosi’s grandstanding on what’s right and wrong brought down a hailstorm of criticism as Twitter users called out the speaker’s smug argument for morality.
